El día de los muertos

The Hispanic community commemorates el Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, with a celebration that remembers and honors the departed by creating altars decorated with crafts, food and symbolic decorations. The celebration takes place on November 1st and November 2nd.

The National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago (Pilsen) has a Day of the Dead exhibition until December 16.  It has ofrendas, paintings and more. You could also buy your own sugar skull.
